Teaching and Scholarly Interests
As a clinician, she centers her work on the health and wellness of Black, Indigenous, People of Color (BIPOC) and the queer community at large. Her teaching and research focus on critical pedagogy and sexuality education, with an emphasis on racial dynamics in kink spaces.
Professional Activities
Dr. Norman's latest work can be found in The Power of BDSM: Play, Communities, and Consent in the 21st Century (2023). She has co-authored several book chapters and articles focused on integrated care for ethnic and sexual minorities living with HIV and multicultural theory, pedagogy, and sexuality education for counselors. Dr. Norman is a National Board of Certified Counselors Minority Fellow, and remains a dedicated advocate for social justice, student mentorship and counselor development.
